Ridgeview Foundation hosting 32nd Annual Golf & Taste Celebration; event raised record $1.25 million in 2016

Ridgeview Foundation will host its 32nd Annual Golf & Taste Celebration at Island View Golf Club in Waconia on Monday, June 19, 2017. As Ridgeview Foundation’s largest fundraising event, the annual Golf & Taste Celebration event brings more than 600 people together to raise funds for Ridgeview Medical Center.

Since 1986, more than $10 million has been raised through the Golf & Taste Celebration to expand the technology and services available to people and communities in the six-county area served by Ridgeview. Proceeds from this year’s event will support the renovation and expansion of Ridgeview’s Emergency Department in Waconia. Set to begin construction in early 2018, this expansion will allow Ridgeview’s emergency services to remain as a premier resource in the southwest metro area.

“This exciting and significant project will transform how we provide emergency care on our Waconia campus, enhancing our ability to continue providing life-saving procedures and treatment,” said Robert Stevens, president and CEO, Ridgeview Medical Center. “We are designing specialized areas to accommodate patients of different ages and needs, investing in advanced equipment and technology, and improving the overall patient experience.

“Every contribution does make a difference for this important project. We are grateful for the very generous and ongoing commitment of our Golf & Taste sponsors, supporters and participants to Ridgeview and the communities we serve,” Stevens said

Golf and so much more

The day-long Golf & Taste event begins with morning golf, followed by a Bridge Tournament and afternoon golf. The evening Taste Celebration has continued to be a highlight each year, with a large number of local restaurants and vendors serving food and refreshments.

Ridgeview Foundation is adding the “Grip It & Rip It” board to this year’s event. It is an interactive, fundraising game that provides a great opportunity to support Ridgeview while having fun. Participants will have the opportunity to purchase a square on the board for $100 and have the opportunity to win prizes – including a grand prize of a vacation for two.

The celebration also includes a silent auction, program and a live auction.  Ian Leonard, Fox 9 chief meteorologist, will serve as the emcee and auctioneer for the evening program.
