Cancer Survivors’ Night featuring two speakers
June is National Cancer Survivor Month and Ridgeview Medical Center is joining organizations and communities across the country in hosting an event to celebrate cancer survivorship. This year’s Celebration of Life event will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Ridgeview Community Auditorium, 500 S. Maple St., Waconia.
The evening will feature presentations by two speakers. Elaine Wilson, writer, mother, cancer survivor and an avid skier from Minnetonka, will share her own personal cancer journey. Allison DeCamillis, MS, ATR, LPCC, is program director at Gilda’s Club Twin Cities, a local cancer support community. DeCamillis will discuss ways to develop skills and resiliency to keep moving forward when living with cancer.

Ridgeview is nationally recognized as a Community Cancer Program, accredited by the Commission on Cancer, partnering with leading cancer care providers, clinics and programs to diagnose, treat and support more than 500 adult cancer patients annually through a multidisciplinary team.
In 2016, Ridgeview and Minnesota Oncology entered into a formal partnership with Minnesota Oncology to form the Minnesota Oncology & Ridgeview Cancer & Infusion Center, with two clinic locations (Chaska and Waconia).
